About Me

My name is Midhat Kazmi. I am a highly motivated and hardworking individual with over 3 years of combined experience in front-end web design and development, user experience and interface (UX/UI) design, and graphic design.

I am passionate about the work I do and am always looking to learn, grow, and improve my skills to better serve my employers and clients.

My name is pronounced /mid-hat/. As phonetic as it gets! 😁

I believe in enhancing a user's experience by providing a consistent and on-brand experience across all online and offline touchpoints. This ensures user satisfaction and keeps their experience pleasant, which becomes a positive association with the brand or product, both print and digital.

User experience and satisfaction is why I am passionate about applying my design skills to all aspects that can be branded. I have experience doing so in institutional organizations and startups. These experiences range in tone from formal to casual, in both collaborative and independent environments. I have produced graphic design materials, user interfaces and their experiences, and delved into web development and eLearning.

Background

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the School of Interactive Arts and Technology, specializing in Design, from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Originally more of an artist, I started getting into design when I was asked to create a jersey for my high school sports team and eventually landed on interface design. But I wanted to do more than design mockups and prototypes; I wanted to implement functionality. This led me to web development, where I continue my journey into front-end development and beyond.

Outside the design-o-sphere, I can be found drawing while listening to podcasts, playing old video games I couldn't beat as a kid, and expanding my vocabulary in my native language.
